Let's get to know Stitchin' Heaven's very own beloved, dream team member, Tina Lueders and take a peek into her stunning sewing space!
We interviewed Tina about her quilting journey and some of things she is most proud of and we are SEW proud to know this wonderful lady and have her on our team!
Hopefully in this blog you get to know and love Tina as much as her Stitchin' Heaven family does, although that's gonna be hard because we love her a lot!
1. What kind of sewing do you like best?
2. What project are you most proud of?
It would have to be a Judy Niemeyer Quilt - "Mariner's Compass". I found a piece of fabric with fall-like leaves and that became my inspiration for colors. I probably went to about 10 different local quilt shops looking for the perfect fabrics. This quilt was for me and when a friend asked me to enter in a judged quilt show I won Best of Show, which was a total surprise to me!
3. How many sewing machines do you own?
Isn't that an impressive sewing machine collection?! The fun happening over there must be endless!
4. Who is your "Sewing Idol"?
It would have to be Judy Niemeyer - I fell in love with her quilt designs and that's what really brought me into the quilting world.
5. How long have you been sewing, and how did you get started?
It seems like all my life. My grandmother taught me how to sew when I was about 3 or 4. She gave me scraps, a needle, and thread and I was making doll clothes by the time I was 8 and then making many of my own clothes in high school. So probably about 60 years.
I think you and I have a lot more to learn from Tina's wealth of knowledge. Both her skill and time dedicated to the craft of quilting and sewing speak for themselves, it is quite the stunning resume!
Check Out Tina's Sewing Space!
This is both a fun and stunning walk-through. What an exciting creative space!
